We are a panel of eight teachers who have had enough of speed reading programs that claim they work, only to literally destroy our students' chances of academic success. We are not out to discourage people from learning speed reading. On the contrary. We firmly believe speed reading helps both business people and students to read, understand, remember and study better. However, only a handful of programs live up to the standards we believe they should have.

This is a teacher panel with broad experience. Some of us teach at college level. Some are high school teachers. And a couple teach in the private sector. We see the problems our students are facing. The only way to handle the avalanche of reading materials they are up against is to read faster and better. Speed reading is the answer.

We present to you three programs at a time – the top three. These are the ones we consider the best out of the dozen or so we test every year.

We use 10 fresh students when we test each program to obtain valid averages. None of these students have learned speed reading before, so the assumption is that an average individual should likely achieve equal results.
